Update edited photos

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

I would like to ask you a question about the use of Affinity app on iPad. My problem is that when I open a raw photo with Affinity and then edit it, after savings I will have a new copy of the photo. This is not what I want. I just would like the picture to be update.

I have tried the advice that someone of you gave me few days ago.  document —> export then share —> save image to your photos album. but still this is not what I’m looking for.

I know this is possible on iMac and I’m wondering why could not on iPad.

thank you in advance

When you open a raw image and make changes, you will be creating a new file, something like xxxx.afphoto. You can open this file (open from Cloud rather than import from...) and changes will be saved to the same file, not a new one. You can choose to export your finished photo in any number of formats but theses will be 'new' files. You can open and edit these new files or continue to work with the original file.

Hi Salvatore82 :)

Unfortunately we don't currently support writing back to the RAW file on iPad, meaning developing an image will always create a new file. We're always working on updating and improving Affinity, and it's something we'd like to support in the future!

Please Note: I am now out of the office until Tuesday 2nd April on annual leave.

If you require urgent assistance, please create a new thread and a member of our team will be sure to assist asap.

Many thanks :)
