wiredbambi
Hi I've just started on the trial of Affinity and am struggling with combining 2 objects. I have 2 objects - a photo and a simple rounded corner rectangle. I want to clip the photo to the shape of the smaller rounded corner rectangle. In Serif Draw Plus I used to layer the cornered rectangle on top of the photo, select both objects then 'Intersect'. In Affinity, I've checked the help and it looks similar to Draw Plus but I just can't get it to do what I want. I end up with a transparent shape. Please can anyone help or point me to a tutorial, thanks. Joanne

Staff MEB Posted September 25, 2018 Staff Share Posted September 25, 2018 Hi wiredbambi, Welcome to Affinity Forums Drag the image layer over the shape layer in the Layers panel to use the rectangle as a clipping layer. wiredbambi 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
wiredbambi
Thank you for getting back to me, I obviously need to slow down and get used to how layers work in Affinity before trying to dive straight in! I've managed to get the 'clipped' shape now thanks to your help. Cheers Joanne
