Need help with jagged edges on logo

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I am a new user of Affinity Photo and Designer and I have made a band logo in Designer.

Originally I made it in 1800x1800 px, thinking it would keep more detail when shrinking it.

But when I am shrinking the design, I get jagged edges on the stroke of a circle.

You can see the logo here: https://www.sequoiaband.no/

But I will include the files too.

Thanks in advance.

I think it looks quite ok. Maybe some jaggedness in outer ring.

I tried exporting original size and resampling in XnConvert:

Seems that AD pixel export is not quite as good as other tools.

Yes, sir. The outer ring was the problem for me.

I never tried XnConvert, may I ask you what you did in XnConvert to make it look so much better?

Nothing special. AD export to original 799X800 png, XnConvert resample to 240X240 png. I think method was Lanczos in both but as you can see "brightness" is different anyway. XnConvert has a good preview window where you can see differences for methods (did not affect the ring aliasing as far as I could see but much to brightness).

The bands first two singles entiteled “hit the lights” and “Roll the dice” was released in 2015, available on all major streaming services.
The band has played a number of live gigs since their first apperance on a stage in may 2013, sharing stages with bands like Oslo Ess, The Carburetors and Lillasyster along the way

Thank you again, I will try that if I run into something similar.
