Multiple tabs in random order

When I open multiple photos, they appear as tabs at the top of the window.

But, they are in random order, not by file name order.

This is a major annoyance, can it be changed.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Welcome to Affinity Forums
You can drag the tabs manually to reposition them. Apart from this currently it's not possible to open files in a specific order according to their file name (or any other parameter).

Thanks, saved me a lot of time hunting for a solution.

I'm surprised Affinity doesn't do this as when photos are loaded from camera most people want to edit them in the order in which they were taken I would have thought.

I assume the reason is that APh places them into a tab once they are fully opened. A larger file may take a little longer and thus be fully open a tad later. You could look at the file sizes and see if there is a relation between the order of the tabs and the file's sizes  (smalles file size all to the left).
