sparvu Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I have a file which Im trying to import, extension EPS which looks like the first attached image. But when I try to open it under Affinity I see something very blue ... like second attachment. Any ideas why ? Is it somthing wrong with the color profile or the file itself. I can see correctly the file under Preview or Graphic. thanks, Stefan Quote
firstdefence Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Do you have the file available? or a slightly redacted version? Where did the eps file come from, Illustrator? That looks like a mask to that blur and transparency effect behind the graphics. sparvu Posted April 7, 2018 Author Posted April 7, 2018 The file comes from canstockphoto.com - no idea how was made. Probable Adobe tools. Yes, I can share privately the file if needed. What I can do to properly load the file ? Quote
firstdefence Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 You can send me privately, I will obviously delete the file once I've looked at it or You can wait for a Mod like @MEB to pop up and I'm sure he'll take a look for you. Ps. A shot at the layers panel would help too, someone might spot the issue. sparvu Posted April 7, 2018 Author Posted April 7, 2018 sure. will send you privately . thanks. Quote
firstdefence Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 @MEB Can you take a look at this EPS file, It opens fine in Illustrator and as a workaround I've saved it as an .ai file for sparvu and it opens fine as an .ai file but it opens as an EPS in Affinity very poorly. Sparvu can send you the file. @sparvu I've deleted all the files I've downloaded and made but at least you have a working file, while you wait to see if MEB can help work out why this EPS file is behaving as it is. Staff MEB Posted April 8, 2018 Staff Posted April 8, 2018 Hi sparvu, Welcome to Affinity Forums Can you please upload the EPS using this link for us to take a look? Thanks. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
sparvu Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Done. Now you have the file. Thanks @MEB Quote
Staff MEB Posted April 11, 2018 Staff Posted April 11, 2018 Thanks for the file @sparvu. This is a bug/issue with the EPS importer. I'm logging it to be looked at. Illustrator opens it correctly because it is loading the Ai data embedded in the EPS, not the eps data - in any case we should import the eps data correctly.
