HRW Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I just started using beta two days ago to do processing on some raw images of architecture that required perspective change. Here are my first thoughts on improvements. When doing a perspective transformation in Photo Persona, the grid distorts along with the image, which does not make sense to me. the grid itself should remain rectilinear so that it provides a reference for horizontal and vertical. Similarly, in Develop Persona, the lens distortion corrections provide a perfect means for perspective correction in RAW. However, there is no grid whatsoever to provide horizontal-vertical references. It would be very valuable to have an option to show such a horizontal/vertical grid. In the lens correction, will there eventually be a range of files for different lenses, or will the user have to create them him/herself? This especially relates to issues like barrel/pincushion for ultra wide angle lenses. The chromatic aberration correction seems very good. Thanks! For crop, you certainly want a 3:2 constraint option. This is the standard 35 mm format. I cannot get Affinity to print. The printing dialog comes up, but when I click OK, the printer simply runs a sheet through without printing. Thanks for developing a really powerful Mac product! Hugh
billtils Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Generally agree with where you are coming from. For a beta, the image editing capabilities are outstanding, but my hair would have gone grey with the hassles of getting it to print what I want, were it not that the same issues have already made me pull out my hair :) Could we PLEASE have a print UI like that in LR???? Staff MEB Posted February 20, 2015 Staff Posted February 20, 2015 Hello HRW and billtils, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Thanks for your comments and suggestions. There's still a long way to go until Affinity Photo is finished. We are still adding/improving several features. Bear with us while we develop it. I'm sure all print problems will be solved as soon as possible. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
billtils Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Thanks for responding MEB. I'll take it as at least "It's a beta and there's a lot to do yet, but printing will get its turn". I can live with that :) Retina iMac (4K display, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM) OS X 10.11.6 Capture One 10.
