ronnyb
I got around to playing with the Distort filters. A few questions: 1. Deform tool: very cool tool. Is there a way to remove the Deform focus points? 2. Perspective: Isn't this a "Tool"? Why is it in the Filters list as well? 2021 16” Macbook Pro w/ M1 Max 10c cpu /24c gpu, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Sonoma 14.4.1 2018 11" iPad Pro w/ A12X cpu/gpu, 256 GB, iPadOS
Staff Andy Somerfield Posted February 16, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 16, 2015 We need to do a little work on the deform tool - better handles and the ability to delete them are desperately needed! As for the second point, all filters are secretly tools - if you customise your tools palette, you will see that all filters can be added to the left hand tool palette (we have icons for precisely none of them at this point in time - they will all just have a generic "FX" icon). Could be useful if you use a certain filter very frequently.. Thanks, Andy.
ronnyb
I noticed that, Andy, which is really cool! I was hinting at REMOVING the Perspective tool from the filters menu, just to keep things neater UI-wise. Intuitively I relate to tools as instruments which let me manipulate the image DIRECTLY, whereas filters are effects applied ON TOP of an image. Now I understand programmatically there may not be much difference between a "Tool" and a "Filter," but it makes a significant difference from a UI consistency POV... Just another 2 cents, keep up the amazing work! 2021 16” Macbook Pro w/ M1 Max 10c cpu /24c gpu, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Sonoma 14.4.1 2018 11" iPad Pro w/ A12X cpu/gpu, 256 GB, iPadOS
