Hi,

I have four images on a blackboard style background layer.  I've created slices from the layers in the export persona.  I'm confused though as the export slices has omitted the background layer.

So, my question is (as well as what am I doing wrong?) how do I create an export slice to include the background layer to?  Is the answer to just do it manually and not to create from the layer?

Thanks in advance

Hi Nev Parker,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Yes, you have to create it manually. If you create a slice from a layer/object it will only include the data contained in that layer/object.

Alternatively (when the number of objects is small) you can use the File ▸ Export command and select Selection with background from the Area dropdown in the Export dialog (make sure the object/layer is selected in the Lyers panel). You will have to repeat the export operation for each one but for a small number of objects it may serve for this purpose.

Okay, thanks.  I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.  In the end, I have selected each slice (created from a layer) in the export persona individually and exported selection with background.

Thanks

Alternatively, you can export the whole project (multiple copy of entire page without creating individual layer slices), and enable individual layers to export.
