Mondo Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Forgive me such a naive question but I am just starting out with Affinity Photo :-) How do I actually open a photo that i can see in my photo library within MacOS Photos app. Can it be dragged into Affinity or do I have to manually find the .jpg??? Staff Lee D Posted December 15, 2017 Staff Posted December 15, 2017 H Mondo, Welcome to the forums. You want to first make sure the Affinity Photos extensions have been enabled, open macOS System Preferences > Extensions. On the right hand menu make sure they are all enabled, now in Photos double click an image to get an enlarged version. On the menu click on the Edit button, then click on the icon of a circle with three dots, here you can choose Edit in Affinity Photo. This will move the image over to our app for further editing, when your done click File > Save and then File > Close. Quote
DianeF Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 When you do what Lee D suggested, be aware that you can only edit one image at a time in AP using this method. If you want to work on more than one image, you have to export the photo from Photos and then open it in AP from elsewhere on your computer. If you use a DAM such as Pixave, for example, which copies your photos from the Photos app into the Pixave app, then you can open more than one photo with no problems.
