Polygonius
well, with AP i can open SVG-files, but just as "pixel", not as resize / colorabel "polygon". Is there any trick/option to do that? R C-R
SVG files can include a mix of bitmap ("pixel"), vector, & text objects so what you get on import depends on what each file contains. Polygonius
Thank you. I want them as vector - i can import and perfect re-scale, but not re-color (they keep 100% black/white). If have to "pixel" it and use the magic-tool, than re-coloring works. Quote OSX 12.5 / iMac Retina 27" / Radeon Pro 580X / Metall: on! --- WWG1WGA WW! R C-R
I am not sure what you mean about "100% black/white" -- are these items imported as vector shape or pixel layers? Polygonius
hi guys, first of all thank you - i guess best is to restart the quest: 1. I can not see a preview in the AP mediabrowser of a svg (but in the finder) 2. If i import / place a svg i get a new layer with transparent background and black "use-datas" (exactly what i expect/want). I can resize this layer in an extrem range free of artifacts. Perfect! 3. But this layer is an "embed document" - i can not change to "curves", just to pixel. 4. As pixel-layer i can recolor - by selecting the "black" with the magian-tool 5. With this "hack" its ok for my workflow / needs its ok. I can easy life with it. But to see them in the browser would be great. (The finder-place-import often offers the wrong pathes, the AP-browser is faster for this searching). Quote OSX 12.5 / iMac Retina 27" / Radeon Pro 580X / Metall: on! --- WWG1WGA WW! I do not understand what you mean about offering the wrong paths. As I said earlier, SVG files can include bitmap (pixel) objects, so if you place one that does have one or more bitmaps in your document, they won't have paths. There is nothing you can do about that -- those layers are already pixel layers & there is no way to convert them to curves from within Affinity. However, if you double-click on any "(Embedded document)" layer, it will open in a new document tab with an "<Embedded>" title. Its Layers panel can be expanded to show all of the layers of the file, so any of its layers that are not pixel layers can be edited just like in any other document, including changing the color of the stroke or fill of individual curve layers without affecting any of the other layers. After you have finished editing, just close the <Embedded>" document window & you should see your changes in the original AP document. On a Mac, you can also switch to Separated Mode on the Windows menu & work on the <Embedded> window side-by-side with the AP document window & see the edits applied to the AP document window in realtime as you do them in the <Embedded> window. You can do this as many times as you want without affecting the original placed document -- the "(Embedded document)" layer is part of the AP document, completely independent of the original placed document. That was the confusing point. I thougt i can collapse an "embedded "layer-group" inside the old document, but i cant. Now all is clear and editable - via DC and the new doc i got all i need.
