The series of lines which make up a group were generated using Cmd+J and a calculation to see how many I needed to do with a 0.1deg angle variation. This is an attempt to do the equivalent of a 'Blend' as was available in DP. I need to be able clip the excess on the ends of the lines. I don't seem to be able to do it using a clipping mask. Is this because I'm trying to clip a group?

Hi Jack,

No, you can mask a group, no problems with that. You can even mask the layer you called Blend directly. There's no need to create the group.

The reason why this isn't working is because you must set a fill for the rectangle you want to use as mask. It must have a solid color otherwise it isn't masking anything (you can also remove the stroke of it to get a cleaner mask). After set the fill, drag, the rectangle layer over the thumbnail of the Blend layer (or over the thumbnail of the group as you prefer) until a small vertical blue marker appear. Done :)

Thanks MEB. It looks quite good.

However this kind of shading is not very practical for perspective as it is very hit and miss to get the angles right. Hopefully the developers will include this kind of blending in the near future.
