DonDaws Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 How can you quickly select the pixels in a layer on the iPad, similarly to cmd click the thumbnail of a layer on the mac? Quote
Staff Lee D Posted August 1, 2017 Staff Posted August 1, 2017 Hi DonDaws, Welcome to the forums. You can switch to the Selection persona and tap the Commands menu and use the selections options. You can also two finger tap the screen and then selecting Select All. stokerg 1 Quote
DonDaws Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 Thanks! Selecting all will still make a square selection around the whole canvas. Say I have a pixel layer and I want to make a selection around just the layer to draw inside it. The only way I have managed to do that is to use one of the selection tools to manually select around the image and then draw inside it. On the mac, I could just cmd click the layer and it would draw a selection around the pixels in the layer. Quote
sophiajcaldwell Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 The only way I've found to do it, is to go into the channels palette and select the 'Layer Pixel Alpha' for the layer you want to select, then select 'Create Spare Channel', then select the spare channel you just created and select 'Load to Pixel Selection'. It's a long winded way of doing it, but I couldn't find any simple solution. It would be great if it was included as an option in the Layers Palette. Procreate has some simple options like this that make workflow much easier. Quote

Hopefully this is something that can be added in the future. Quote
Nityanandachandra Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Yes this is what I am trying to figure out. I am doing this desktop tutorial on iOS and I cannot get past 8:27 in the video. Same question. Quote
