blue_heron
I wonder why it is still possible to apply a fliter to an adjustment layer? Are there any cases where this makes sense? A warning would be helpful or the filters just greyed out. There are other things that also make no sense (for me): - A brush (or a layer) with zero opacity - A white brush on a 100% white mask - Eraser on an empty mask
Staff Callum Posted July 10, 2017 Staff Share Posted July 10, 2017 Hi Blue_heron, Some people have used the distort filters with the Adjustment layer mask to achieve some good looking effects in the past here on the forums. You could make a post in our Feature Requests section if you would like a warning to be added. Because we import other file formats and those file formats support zero opacity we need to honour those levels of opacity when we open them so we also must be able to set our layer opacity that low. We allow you to paint white on a white mask so you can paint over it again if you paint any black onto it this is also the case for the eraser as this can be used to paint black onto a mask.
