jackamus
Is it likely that Affinity will produce a linear gradient that can follow a path? What I'm thinking of in particular is using a gradient to shade a curved tube or rod/wire. How do you adjust a gradient applied to a line? roryobryan 1 Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools. Staff MEB Posted January 7, 2015 Staff Share Posted January 7, 2015 There's currently no tools/features that allow you to create a vector gradient that follows a path directly. You can try creating the gradient using multiple shapes following the path you need and then masking them, but it's not really practical. jackamus
Hi MEB, I think you missed my question about adjusting gradients on a line. Staff MEB Posted January 8, 2015 Staff Share Posted January 8, 2015 Oops. I really missed it. Sorry. Here's how to do it: - select the line and go to the gradient tool - in the context toolbar change the Context drop down to Stroke and select the type of gradient you want to apply in the Type drop down - then drag over the line on the canvas to apply the gradient and display the control nodes. - from here it works exactly like gradient fills - there's a color button on the context toolbar with the usual options to customise your gradient.
