It’s not obvious to me why you can’t join more than once, should you feel so inclined, but in your OP you wrote: On 3/25/2017 at 10:22 AM, Lauri said: Invite link (It's recommended that you have Discord app installed and running when you click this): https://discord.gg/auDUEs5 I would suggest that it’s more than ‘recommended’ that you have the Discord app up and running beforehand. If you don’t, you’ll be able to visit the above URL but you won’t be able to proceed beyond that point, because the ‘Accept Invite’ button tries to open a link that uses the ‘discord://‘ protocol. It's obvious because I've already joined the server. But the link does take me to the server in Discord app when I click it. It clearly gives web-version as option when you click the invite link. But personally I would use the app instead. Quote

It doesn’t offer any such option here, which is why I mentioned the problem. My point is that you said it’s ‘recommended’ that you install and run the app before clicking on the link, but it’s more than merely recommended: it’s essential. If you were to click it in desktop Chrome, it looks like you could login via browser but it might behave differently with other platforms. I can't edit the post anymore, so can't do much about it. crazygamer16 Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 i just joined the discord server hoping to find some friends Quote
drkanukie Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Discord if fine if you are permanently on the chat and are Pavlovian to notifications, it's like Slack. But if you are not it's a hopeless mess of unthreaded messages that only have vague temporal correlation and just isn't useful. It's also impossible to find anything for reference either. The channels solution doesn't work in setting a useful context either. I have no idea why it's so popular I think it's the constant notification hit. Quote
