VectorCat
When I place an image 570 px wide into AD, the resulting placed object is 760px wide! Why would this be? I did not scale the object; merely placed it. And let me be very clear about my exact steps.... With an AD document open..one which I've been using in my workflow, one not set up for retina images, I placed an image whose width in pixels is 570. I only placed the image; I did not scale, skew, distort or in anyway modify its size, aspect ratio, or any other attribute. Thank you! carl123
Make sure the DPI of the image you are placing, is the same as the document. A mismatch can cause what you are seeing Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. VectorCat
OK..well the reasoning sounds great but the actual performance seems to be consulting something else.. The images I'm placing are 72 dpi, my AD document is 72dpi. Yet when I place the 72 dpi image, AD measures the placed image as *much* larger. I have to admit that I am stumped. Might there be something else at work in this?
carl123
Just tested and an image of 570px wide (72dpi) will show as 760px wide when placed in a document created at 96dpi, which appears to be what you are getting. Note: If you change the dpi of the document AFTER you have placed the image this will not correct the "problem" for images that have already been placed. If you still cant find the problem please upload a new AD document with a placed image that shows the problem plus a separate copy of the image you are trying to place, then hopefully someone should be able to see what is happening. PS Immediately after creating the new document, select the option, File > Save History With Document, which will show us the exact steps you are taking Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum.
