davidmacneil79
How do I drag resize/change opacity (brush) with windows? I know on the mac you can hold ctrl + option and drag but I am trying different modifier combos and none are working. Thanks
Staff MEB Posted December 13, 2016 Staff Share Posted December 13, 2016 Hi davidmacneil79, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Press and hold ALT + LMB (left mouse button) + RMB (right mouse button) and drag horizontally to change the brush size and vertically to change the brush hardness. davidmacneil79
Thanks, I am not sure why thats not working for me. Is there a preference that needs to be enabled? When I hold ALT+Left I am picking colors, holding ALT+rmb is not doing anything
R C-R
I am not a Windows user but MEB said to press & hold both mouse buttons as well as the ALT key. Are you doing that? Staff MEB Posted December 13, 2016 Staff Share Posted December 13, 2016 Hi davidmacneil79 You have to press both mouse buttons at the same time + ALT and drag horizontally to change the size and vertically to change the hardness, otherwise it will not work. anthony31
This really needs to be fixed as soon as possible. It is absolutely absurd that you need 3 button clicks to change brush size. The [ ] shortcuts are not particularly useful either. For some people this is the most used function and needing 3 clicks to achieve something that most other programs can do with 1 click is a ridiculous waste of time and is why I cannot use or recommend this program in a professional setting. R C-R
@anthony31, It isn't 3 separate button clicks, it is one click & drag step with two buttons & one key held down. davidmacneil79
Oh okay I miss read and assumed it was one or the other. That works. Ya its not a bad way to resize with the mouse but not that convenient with the tablet. Is there a way to remap it to be the same as Photoshop. just ALT+rmb drag. Or how would you suggest using it with the tablet. I prefer to have space and rmb on my pen buttons.
Staff MEB Posted December 13, 2016 Staff Share Posted December 13, 2016 Hi davidmacneil79, anthony31, We are aware this is not very practical and do intend to change it soon. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
davidmacneil79
Awesome! ya resizing and changing the hardness of the brush is something I am doing often and the quicker I can do it the better. I am really liking the software :) Some really nice features. keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing how it evolves!
