Jimmini Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Is there a way to snap a node along the direction of the previous node's handle, in Designer? Considering the following semicircle, I would like to place a new or existing node at the cross: Quote
Staff MEB Posted November 24, 2016 Staff Posted November 24, 2016 Hi Jimmini, Yes, press ⇧ (shift) while dragging the node. If you have the Pen Tool selected, press Ctrl (to switch temporarily to the Node Tool) and ⇧ (shift) simultaneously. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Jimmini Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 Hi Jimmini, Yes, press ⇧ (shift) while dragging the node. If you have the Pen Tool selected, press Ctrl (to switch temporarily to the Node Tool) and ⇧ (shift) simultaneously. I'm sorry, I can't get this to work. I turned on all possible snap options. In case you misunderstood, I don't mean snapping the node's handle, but an actual node along another node's handle. Quote
Staff MEB Posted November 24, 2016 Staff Posted November 24, 2016 Hi Jimmini, Sorry, i did misunderstand your question. If you press ⌃(ctrl) you can move the node without moving the handles, however as far as i know there's no way to keep/constraint the movement to the direction of the handles. Jimmini Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 I see. I guess I'll make a feature request then. Anyway, thanks for your response. Quote
Staff Ben Posted November 24, 2016 Staff Posted November 24, 2016 I'll look to add something in 1.6. Staff Ben Posted December 20, 2017 Staff Posted December 20, 2017 Make that 1.7. 1.7 already includes a lot of changes to Pen and Node tools.
