Is there a way to snap a node along the direction of the previous node's handle, in Designer?

Considering the following semicircle, I would like to place a new or existing node at the cross:

Hi Jimmini,

Yes, press ⇧ (shift) while dragging the node. If you have the Pen Tool selected, press Ctrl (to switch temporarily to the Node Tool) and ⇧ (shift) simultaneously.

I'm sorry, I can't get this to work. I turned on all possible snap options. In case you misunderstood, I don't mean snapping the node's handle, but an actual node along another node's handle.

I'll look to add something in 1.6.

Make that 1.7.

1.7 already includes a lot of changes to Pen and Node tools.
