I can't download any of the Affinity Designer or Photo updates from the Mac App Store

Recommended Posts

I have been unsuccesful in getting Affinity updates from the Mac App Store for the last two updates.

I am a paid user and I paid for and downloaded Affinity Designer and Photo before you offered them on Apple's Mac App Store.

Is there any way I can download these updates from the Serif/Affinity website.

I am running OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion.

Have not been able to download the last two updates on Apple's Mac App Store at all!

Apple has not been of any help on this.

Help!

Hi MichelPM,

Welcome to the Forums :)

Unfortunately its not possible to download any updates directly from us.

Have you tried to log-out and log-in again from the Mac App Store?

If that doesn't work, drag Affinity Designer from the Applications folder to the trash and empty it then install it again from the App Store app as this will install the latest version.

I hope this helps

How did you manage to do that? To my knowledge the only way to buy the retail Affinity Mac apps is & has always been through the Mac App Store.

This FINALLY WORKED, but I also had to logout and login to my OS X user account to get this to work.

So, thanks. I was struggling with this the whole previous night and the last two updates.

Now I have a good solution to use in the future when this happens, again.

At one time when Affinity Designer (not Photo) was initially released, I believe Serif was offering this through their website as a paid download.

At least, this is how I remember being introduced to Affinity Designer. It didn't start out for purchase on the Mac App Store.

Designer for Mac started off as a public beta anybody could download & try out for free, but there was never any way to buy the retail product directly from Serif.
