Riksa
Hello, I am a beginner for Affinity Photo :) How do I remove the image edges or fade? Thank you! Best regards, Riksa
R C-R
There are many ways to do this. One is to use the Eraser set to a very low hardness (so the edges erase less than the center) and/or a lower than 100% opacity setting so the image is only partially erased. You can use successive passes with the Eraser to gradually fade out the parts you want erased. You can do the same thing with the paint brush if you want the edges to fade to some color. These are destructive methods because you are changing the pixel values directly. Non-destructive methods include using masks, layer clipping, adjustment layers, etc. The In-house Affinity Photo Video Tutorials are a good place for beginners (& everybody else) to learn how to use the app. Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.

SrPx
1a ) Select your object, or have it with background transparent in a layer. Select menu, Outline, shift + f5 to fill color. 1b) Another way: Layer FX ---> outline. 2) yep, copy and paste layer in the layers panel. 3) They are exported as a final result. Reopening a JPG wont have the adjustment layers. To keep those you need to save in A. Photo native format. Quote AD, AP and APub. V1.10.6 (not using v1.x anymore) and V2.4.x.
