Julion
Affinity Designer Mac Beta 1.5.3 If I set constraints to prevent object A from scaling, why does "Lock Children" option on parent object B stop working for object A's position when resizing the object B? In this case I disabled the inner arrows for object A like so:
A_B_C
Seems like a bug … (I assume you are talking about a situation like this one below …)
Julion
Yes, thanks for confirming! Should I file a bug report or can a mod move this thread?
R C-R
Seems like a bug … (I assume you are talking about a situation like this one below …) In your example, what is the container for the B rectangle? A_B_C
Hmm … this is immaterial, I think. I just added this for completeness. Here’s a way to reproduce the issue: Create two rectangles, A and B, and make A a child of B. Remove the constraints on A as shown. Select B in the layers list, tick “Lock Children.” Now try to move the parent rectangle B independently of the child rectangle A. Impossible. Does that make sense? Maybe I misunderstood some aspect of the Constraints functionality …
R C-R
I just started experimenting with constraints so I may be confused about how they should work, but Lock Children seems to be working as expected for me, but only if I set the constraints for B as you show them set for A. If I do that, it doesn't matter how I set the constraints for A. I have no idea if this is how it should work though. Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.2 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
