Hiyori Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I am a Japanese designer and a devoted user of Affinity software. I've always enjoyed creating things, but I found Adobe software difficult to use because of its complex UI, which often kept me from making progress. Then I discovered Affinity software. I really liked its intuitive interface, and I've been using it for the past five years. Thanks to Affinity, I was able to become a designer even without prior experience. Now, I want to create even better work. I hope to take on the challenge of designing for Japanese print media. Could you please consider updating the software to support vertical Japanese text? alanika 1 Quote
GarryP Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Welcome to the forums @Hiyori There are various requests for this sort of thing, some going back to 2015, for example: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/6056-vertical-type/ As has been mentioned in other related threads, offering vertical text, or RTL text, would require a major re-write of the text handling code and various other things which rely on that code. It’s something that Serif have said that they would like to offer but it would take a very large amount of time and effort to implement, especially to get it working well. Quote
