Fixed.

Solution...

In the template file:

Document Setup > Model: Uncheck 'facing pages'

Document Setup > Dimensions: Set 'Show dimensions of:' to Page (rather than Spread)

Maybe that's current knowledge... somewhere.

And this may yet be in reality a bug depending on if one needs a full spread data merge...

It appears that the rotated text frame and rectangle objects are somehow being drawn relative to the spine in the spread. Although there is not property to control positioning like that that I can find.

I have attached a copy of the merge template file to this post in the off chance that someone wants to have a look.

Hi @Chris_06,

This is likely related to the new 2.6 'Anchor Towards Spine' functionality maintaining the object's distance relative to the spine. From the 'Pages' panel context menu under the 'Page Move Options' submenu, disable the 'Anchor Towards Spine' option and then try merging your facing page document again, this should prevent the undesired content shift in the merged doc.

That fixed it right up.

Thanks @NathanC!

Suggestion: When adding a new feature, have it default to the current expected behavior and announce it loudly.

But then, maybe it was loudly announced, and I was away at the coffee pot at the time.
