I'm using PDF-Xchange Editor as my reader, and each PDF has a name in the tab. In this case it's Briefing5.

I don't remember ever setting this name and the PDF is saved as something quite different, albeit using another PDF as a basis, from which it's presumably carrying over.

How do I change it please?

I found it. Should have checked the answers first - I usually do.

But what's it doing in Fields? That's not even there in default. Surely this should be in Document Setup?

I am not sure if there is a "logical" place for this kind of information. Implementing this in context of Fields is probably related to ability to add custom fields to be included as meta data, somewhat similarly as e.g. in Word, where you need to choose File > Info to access the Title field of the document, and then use Advanced Properties > Custom to add user-defined meta data -- not very intuitive. Having all meta data accessible from one point is not a bad idea, though the feature is not necessarily easily accessible ;-)

Yes ... the title to be displayed is, to my mind, an important feature, and should be a simply-available thing to be entered when setting up any document.

I don't know whether this is easier in other software?
