I would like to see a rotate page in document setup (in Designer). It's a silly little thing, but it's something that I'm used to seeing and using in other programs.

Do you mean something else than the portrait/landscape orientation commands, under the Dimensions fields?

I apologise for any approximations in my English. It is not my mother tongue.

The request seems to be for Designer, not Publisher (which I think you used for your screenshot).

I'm sorry, my screenshot was not explicit enough as it gave no clue about this.

Actually, it was well an .afdesign file opened in Designer [I use the light interface to distinguish AD from APub], but I see the dialog is not the same for each such file — so perhaps the file I used started its life in Publisher? (I don't remember…)

Whatever, the same option is also present for another .afdesign file, this time "genuine" guaranteed, still opened in Designer but it's not presented the same way:

— BTW, I notice these 2 types of dialogs for Document setup also don't behave the same from an UI point of view:

  • First dialog (Publisher alike) is movable and when I take a window screenshot (⌘⇧4, followed by space bar ␣) only the dialog is selected
  • The 2nd one is unmovable and the background window is always included in a windowed screenshot (compare the round angles of the windowed screenshots vs. the square angles of a manual selection).

This different behaviour is possibly a programmation inconsistence (one appears to be a window and the other a dialog).

Thanks. I wasn't sure, as a document in Designer usually wouldn't have Artboards named Page 1 and Page 2, so it might have come from Publisher originally or it might have come from a PDF file that you Opened and Saved as a .afdesign file. (I also wasn't sure of the terminology being used in the dialog, as your UI is in French :) )

That's probably a difference between a document that has a Canvas and one that has Artboards. I can't really comment on your other notes about the inconsistencies between the two dialogs. I've never noticed it, but it does feel odd.

@motocafe: Just a comment: Designer doesn't have "Pages", usually, that you can rotate. It can have them, if you Open a document from Publisher, but normally it will have a single Canvas or multiple Artboards, and referring to "Pages" in the context of Designer can sometimes cause confusion.
