How can I rezie the columns in a table inported from work? The column widths are nothing like they appear in word after import.

I can resize all but the last right column. I get the double arrow at the rightmost column but it will not resize like the others.

Hi @JM1 I tried importing a table from Word and I was able to resize the rightmost column from both its right and left sides. Could you share a small test MS Word test file of a table that when placed in Publisher doesn't allow you to resize the rightmost column? I'm wondering if there's some precondition causing the issue, such as a specific combination of merged cells.

I do not have a Word file to test with but with a newly created Table in APub on my Mac, it is hit or miss if the rightmost column width can be adjusted with the double-arrow. More often than not, it does nothing if dragged left & if dragged right does nothing until I have dragged it far enough that a new column the same width of the previous rightmost one snaps into existence.

Sometimes if I fiddle with it enough it will finally work but I have not found any pattern that makes it work every time.

EDIT: What I just discovered thanks to referring to the status bar is that the pointer needs to be positioned just slightly to the left of the rightmost edge of the rightmost column -- the 'sweet spot' seems to be only a pixel or two wide, so if I am just a pixel or two to the right of that the status bar changes from "Drag to resize column" to "Click or drag to add columns."

So graphically, the double-arrow needs to be offset to the left of where one would expect it to be positioned to do a resize drag, with about 2/3rds of the arrow to the left of the right vertical edge of the column.

That is the only tricky part so here's the tip: start dragging from just to the left of the column edge, not from directly on top of it or to its right.

Affinity allows you to add a new column by dragging on the Column Count control. However, you can't tell when you start dragging whether you're dragging to scale the rightmost column or to add a new column because both actions use the same mouse pointer which is rather confusing.

I assume you posted before I edited my reply. As I discovered the status bar shows where the pointer has to be positioned. FWIW, I consider this very narrow 'sweet spot' to be a very poor design choice.

EDIT: In fact, since the 'Drag to add new columns' function only works when dragging to the right, the pointer for it should not be a double-headed arrow, just a right-pointing one.
