overlay

I added a snow overlay to this picture but it looks like it's snowing inside the porch. Is there a way to add an overlay but keep it from overlapping the window sills or whatever they're called? Thanks

Select the window panes, not the frame and only apply the overlay to the selection. Or, select the frame, make a copy and put in on a new layer above, then add the overlay to the bottom/window layer.

(FWIW: The sill is the ledge or shelf at the bottom of the window.)
