Oufti Posted January 31 Posted January 31 — First I've to confess that I'm not using Affinity as prescribed, since I don't respect the minimum screen size recommended in Affinity's System requirements (1280x768 display size or larger). (My MBP 14"Retina screen displayed too little letters for my eyes, thus I rescale it to 1147 × 745.) However, I'm very happy with Affinity and make good work with it like this. I do as I can with some resulting glitches but there is one that resists to me and seems not so difficult to change (?): In the Status bar, there are hints about the keyboard modifiers that can help. It seems interesting but often I can't see the last part of it because they are laterally truncated. I'd wish that if I bring the cursor on the Status bar and go to the right, the text will scroll to the end, so I can read it all, even if I have a small screen. [Same problem occurs in the Text Styles panel, for the description of local overrides, but there at least 1º it scrolls vertically and 2º it's possible as a workaround to select and copy-paste elsewhere its content.] Quote Affinity Suite 2.5 – Monterey 12.7.5 – MacBookPro 14" 2021 M1 Pro 16Go/1To I apologise for any approximations in my English. MikeTO Posted February 1 Posted February 1 The status bar hits are also cut off in English even with the default UI font size on screens larger than the minimum screen size. Turning off word count helps a bit. One option that might be nice would be if clicking the tip opened a popup with the same text so you could read it all. The popup could even include a link to a help page for more information so clicking the tip would be advantageous even for those with large screens. loukash Posted February 2 Posted February 2 On Mac, you can always make a window wider than the actual display width by simply temporarily moving a window sideward and resize it to the opposite edge, in this case move it to the left and then resize on the right until you can read the status bar in full. Then simply select Window→Zoom to revert to display size. That said, this UI design flaw annoys me since almost 10 years as well… Oufti 1 Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2

This is a great idea. 1 hour ago, loukash said: Then simply select Window→Zoom to revert to display size. Or just double-click on the window's title bar. But as a Mac user since 35 years by now, I'm setting my general windows preferences to hide the window in the Dock on double-clicking the title bar. It's one of the two choices. I made the other (resize window on double-clicking the title bar). I was actually about to write something similar. Quote
