DesignNorth Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I'm transitioning from Adobe InDesign CS6 to Publisher. With InDesign I can place a B/W bitmapped TIFF file into my document and change the color or opacity. Is there any way to do that in Publisher V1? Or do I have to do that somewhere else first each time I want a color or opacity change? Quote
thomaso Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Yes, you can do it in APub, too. You can colourize image files in Affinity by applying a fill colour to any greyscale image (e.g. tif, png, jpg). You can also colourize RGB images which achieves a result with colour + black. In CMYK documents, you also have the option of activating "K Only" for an RGB image, which only creates and colours an equivalent of a black channel, thus producing a brighter result than without this option activated (see the last two columns). DesignNorth Posted January 21 Author Posted January 21 Thank you for your reply. So, I would have to change a vector B/W EPS Logo file into a grey raster file to change it into a Pantone color? And then back into a bitmap file? Seems complicated. I like to keep it as a vector file so I can enlarge it for exterior signage applications. Quote
NotMyFault Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) First you said you want to use bitmap files. For vector files, open them in Publisher to Designer and directly assign a Pantone color to the layer. Unfortunately this can be tedious as currency there is no „color replacement“ tool in Affinity apps. No. How do you come to this conclusion? As @NotMyFault pointed out, you can assign a fill colour to a vector object. But there is no need for Affinity Designer, you can also use Publisher or Photo. If you want to replace various colours in multiple vector objects the feature "Select Same Colour" might make the lack of a colour replacing tool a little easier. This is available in Affinity Publisher and AD but not in APh. https://affinity.help/publisher2/English.lproj/index.html?page=pages/ObjectControl/selectByAttribute.html&title=Selecting objects by attribute Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
