LinkOn Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 (edited) Hello, I've searched, but haven't found a solution to this. I'm trying to export a single page design. (Actually, in testing this issue, I've even created a blank document and still get the same result - locked up software) When I click File > Export (intending to export a PDF), the program freezes. Everywhere I click I just get that tone sound - indicating it's unresponsive. Based one other forum post I found, I tried disabling hardware acceleration. That didn't help. I've also restarted my PC. I've also re-installed Affinity with the latest version. Still, the software locks up when I try to export. The export screen doesn't show up at all. The export button may as well be a "freeze the software" button. Naturally, this is a major issue. Can't exactly have print design software that won't allow exporting to a PDF. Anyone have a solution I can try? I am running version 2.5.7 (latest version) Edited December 30, 2024 by LinkOn Quote
Hangman Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Hi @LinkOn and welcome to the forums, I can't guarantee this will resolve the issue but I would try a factory reset of Publisher by holding the Ctrl key while launching the app. When you see the Clear User Data screen, leave the first three options ticked, click the Clear button, let Publisher finish launching, and see whether that fixes the export problem… Note 1: A factory reset will reset any customisation you’ve made to the tools panel and context toolbar Let us know either way... LinkOn Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Thank you @Hangman , That fixed it! I really appreciate the prompt reply too. That is a handy thing to know how to do. I was wondering if there was a way to do something like that. Thanks again! Quote

Alternatively: If you're using a Mac, a default sound might mean that an open dialog window is waiting for your feedback, perhaps hidden by other panels or windows or on a separate monitor, while you click anywhere. LinkOn Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Yeah, that's what I thought as well. But I looked all over and could not find it. Even hovered over the taskbar to see if there was such a window that existed. But, nope... wasn't any to be found unfortunately. Quote
