Hello, I have an ongoing issue with Export Persona when using "export setup preset" that includes a webp format.

In the video, I show that several times. As long as the export preset does not include webp, it works fine.
But as soon as I include webp, save the preset, close affinity and then apply it on a new file, it crashes 100% of the time.

  • Affinity Designer 2.5.7 AND Photo 2.5.7 behave the same way.
  • Both my iMac 2020 at home and at work (MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1) have that same issue.
  • on Windows 10 it does work fine.

  1. I guess that's a bug right? :-)
  2. Secondary question, how can I remove those boggy presets now when I am unable to select them?

Thanks for help!

I use Affinity Suite mainly for graphic design (product label, poster, banner, logo, guidelines, reports).
I'm also interested in video editing (Davinci Resolve), 3D for mockups and various concepts (Blender).

Hi @damdam,

Can confirm this is a known bug with webp export persona presets currently logged with the developers, i've bumped the existing issue with your report.

Create a new document and go to File -> Export -> WebP and you should be able to select and delete the preset(s) from the standard export dialog.

@NathanC I cannot remove the presets I'm looking for from that panel. To remove those, first I must select it. But when I do Affinity crashes... hehe.

I was expecting to find those preset files within the file package of the app or in a specific folder where Affinity saves those presets. It must be somewhere but I could not find any thread talking about this.

Apologies, yes you're correct, the two preset types are kept in separate locations. If you open spotlight search (CMD + SPACE) and enter the following path:

~/library/Application Support/Affinity Designer 2/User

In this folder there should be an 'export_config.dat' file, delete this and then restart the app, the export persona presets should be reset.

Hello @NathanC, thanks for this. I wished I could have picked which preset though but that's better than nothing :-)

Hello, I think this issue has been fixed in 2.6.2!

Well..., not really... It did work once but then the problem came back. I cannot tell what was the reason though, unfortunately.
I've made 3 different screen captures to explain what is it happening.

  1. Designer crashes with my preset containing WebP.
  2. Applying my saved preset containing WebP to a new file crashes too.
  3. Removing the WebP format from my preset then save it as a new preset works fine. No WebP, no problem

Help?
