Feature Request: allow export without forcing pixel rounding

Hi Affinity Team,

I’ve been dealing with a pretty frustrating issue in Affinity Designer that hasn’t been resolved yet. I made a recent post about this (which I’ll link here for context).

Here’s the issue: when exporting to PDF, Affinity rounds fractional pixels to whole pixels, and this creates unwanted 1px-wide white seam lines on the edges of the exported file. These seams don’t appear inside Affinity Designer itself, or when similar files are exported in other software.

I’ve tried all kinds of adjustments to fix this on my end, but nothing seems to work. The same file was exported by another person using different software without these issues, even with fractional pixels present. This shows that the problem is specific to how Affinity handles rounding during export.

The frustrating part is that this issue has been brought up countless times over the years, yet it hasn’t been addressed. it’s disappointing to see this problem persist—especially since it affects so many workflows that depend on precision.

So here’s my request: please add an option to disable automatic pixel rounding during PDF export. Letting fractional pixels stay as they are would give us the control we need and prevent these unwanted seam lines from showing up.

I think this small change would have a big impact for many users and show that the feedback from the community is being listened to.

Only in vector view. In pixel mode it will of course be displayed as it will be exported.

As stated in many threads on this topic, it is necessary to work "Pixel perfect", i.e. position and size to whole pixels. Alternatively, ensure that using fx does not enlarge the object.
