App: Publisher 2.6.0.2900 Beta (Windows)

Steps to reproduce.

  1. Create a new document. Use the default settings:

    • Facing Pages: On

    • Arrange: Horizontally

    • Start on: Right

    • Number of Pages: 1

  2. Look at the document view. You will see that:

    • Page is centered in the document view.

    • The thumb in vertical scrollbar is in correct position (half way) within the scrollable region.

    • The thumb in the horizontal scrollbar is scrolled more to the left.(incorrect)

  3. Now use View → Zoom → Zoom to Document. You will see that:

    • Thumb in the vertical and horizontal scrollbar is in the correct position.

    • Page is no longer centered horizontally in the view. It is offset to the left, which is inconsistent with the horizontal scrollbar. The page should be centered horizontally in the document view.

  4. Add two more pages (spread) using Add pages in pages panel.

    • New added spread will display scaled and centered horizontally in document view.

    • Thumb in the horizontal scrollbar is in the wrong position. It is scrolled more to left when it should be halfway there because the spread is centered horizontally in the view.

  5. Once again use Zoom to Document.

    • Thumb in vertical an horizontal scrollbar is in correct position within scrollable region.

    • All document pages are displayed in the view, but are not centered horizontally correctly. The first page and the right page of the added spread are centered in the document view which is incorrect. It should be that the spread is horizontally centered in the view and that the first page match to that.

Is the horizontal scrollbar thumb position just being set incorrectly all the time? Here's what I'm seeing on macOS:

  1. Create a new facing-page document with 1 page - note the offset horizontal thumb
  2. Add 2 pages - note the somewhat different but still offset horizontal thumb
  3. Double-click page 2 (left) and then page 3 (right) - the thumb doesn't move
  4. Drag the horizontal thumb a tiny bit - the page jumps in the window to match the thumb position
  5. Double-click page 2 (left) again - the thumb doesn't move
  6. Drag the horizontal thumb a tiny bit - the page jumps in the window to match the thumb position

This happens in 2.5.6 as well as 2.6 beta.

@MikeTO The problem is with the horizontal scrollbar and the Zoom to document command.

In 2.5.6 Zoom to document centers pages horizontally in the document view but in 2.6.0.2900 it does not.

I'm not disputing that but I'm adding to what you posted.

It appears that the horizontal scrollbar is not set, at least on macOS, if you:

  • Zoom to Document (menu command)
  • Zoom to spread (double-click spread)
  • Zoom to page (double-click page)

The thumb is set for Zoom to Selection, Zoom to Fit, Zoom to Width, Zoom In, and Zoom Out.
