Hi, I am trying to erase some text and lines using affinity designer from an existing  drawing, pdf file. The file has been unlocked using unlock all, in the pixel persona. Selecting the erase brush tool and trying to select objects on the drawing. Nothing seems to be able to be selected.

I have tried the designer persona using the vector crop tool  to select objects and not able to select any item ( 0 objects selected).

Can someone please provide guidance /hints please?

Does the PDF file just contain a pixel image, or does it actually contain selectable elements of a vector drawing?

Unlocking the file would be an Explorer/Finder operation (i.e. an OS-level thing). When you choose ‘Unlock All’ you aren’t unlocking the file, you’re unlocking the layers in the document so that you can transform (resize, move or rotate) the contents of those layers. It shouldn’t matter which persona you’re in when you do this.

Use the Move Tool to select objects. The Erase Brush Tool is for erasing pixels from the drawing.

Use the Move Tool to select objects. The Vector Crop Tool is for cropping objects in the drawing.

Thanks for your helpful comments Alfred.

I'm not sure what the answer is to your first reply.

How do you determine if the pdf contains images that are pixel or vector based?

JMA
