Gaps Error Between Forms

Recommended Posts

Most recently, i decided to migrate to Affinity Designer to work with Vectorial Art. The expericence has beeing very impressive. But i have noted a bug or miss configuration that affects my personal work at the end.

For any reason, there are smal spaces between all objetcs. I have tried things like Snap or remove the trace but the gaps are still there. Someone can please help me to fix?

Here a example:

This is the unavoidable (1) effect of anti-aliasing. Whenever you have facing 2 lines running parallel, you get this.

there are many ways to deal with it:

  • use a backfill layer. In the example of the sole: have one curve of the full sole in dark blue, put the curve in light blue above. Having the dark blue excluding the upper light blue area creates the issue.
  • set gamma to 1.0 to influence color blending
  • add a curves adjustment or levels adjustment to boost semi-transparent pixels
  • deactivate antialiasing
  • work in higher resolution and resize exported raster images later

(1) other apps may have automated measures to deal with it. Affinity apps leave it to the user.

My posts focus on technical aspects and leave out most of social grease like „maybe“, „in my opinion“, „I might be wrong“ etc. just add copy/paste all these softeners from this signature to make reading more comfortable for you. Otherwise I’m a fine person which respects you and everyone and wants to be respected.
