Evaluation complete.
I recently invested in a new iPad so I can work on my professional book, which I can see will be quite extensive. I’m traveling more and more, and often the less equipment, the better. But a lightweight keyboard always comes along. I've been using Publisher for macOS for some time, where I have assigned the Page Up and Page Down keys to their respective keys on the keyboard. But I can't do this on Publisher for iPadOS? I'm really not thrilled about that, as it's the quickest and easiest way to jump a few pages up or down while editing a chapter. The scroll wheel actually works, but it requires having one and connecting a mouse. So, obviously, I recommend that the option to assign Page Up and Down shortcuts to custom keys be included. 🙂 I can hardly imagine anyone using Publisher extensively on an iPad without an attached keyboard. walt.farrell
Welcome to the Affinity forums. I like that idea, though my iPad keyboard doesn't have keys for PageUp and PageDown on it. Still, I could assign something In case you haven't discovered it, and in case it helps, in Publisher's Settings, under Tools, you can select Enable View Tool for Accessibility. That will give you the Hand icon at the bottom of the Tools list, and if you click on it the Context Bar will include a dropdown that lets you select the page to view or work on. But a keyboard shortcut would be nice, as you mention. Evaluation complete.
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I do already have the hand tool enabled, which I find really valuable to have. My keyboard is also the smaller one without page up and down, but I might consider supplementing with the larger Magic Keyboard if page up/down support were added. It's just a more serious keyboard. Otherwise, as you mentioned, you can assign up/down to something else. 🙂 walt.farrell
