Open new file in affinity publisher when using two monitors with different resolutions

Recommended Posts

When I open Publisher the new file dialog opens on the lower resolution monitor.  The main app is on the high resolution monitor.  The resultant file works but is corrupted visually - see attached screenshot.  It can be fixed by dragging the app to the low resolution monitor and dragging it back.  Clearly there is an issue!  My system is an M2 Mac mini with 1tb storage and 16gb ram.  It happens every time. Every time.

Hi @Rufusbadger,

What resolution are your monitors running?  Which version of MacOS are you using?

I've tried to replicate this on my M3 MacBook Pro with 2 external monitors,  one monitor set to 1152x648 and the other 3840x2160 and haven't been able to replicate this.

Hi, The main monitor is 4K The other is 1920 *1080.  Mac Version Sequoia.

I have discovered today when I had enabled stage manager (I just wondered if this would change the 'file create dialog' location which was appearing in the 1080 res monitor before) the 'file create dialog' now appears on the 4k monitor and the problem went away.  I am convinced that where the 'file create dialog' appears has some link to the problem.  The 4K monitor is plugged into a thunderbolt port and is display port into the monitor.  The 1080 monitor is in the Mac HDMI port and is HDMI into the monitor if this has any relevance.
