Opening Canon EOS 600D CR2 Raw files cause crash

Hi everyone,

 

each time I try to open a Canon CR2 raw file (EOS 600D camera), Designer will crash.

I can repeat the same with any of the CR2 files I have.

I checked the compatible RAW file list, and the 600D is on it.

 

OS: Windows 10 HUN, build: 10586.420

Designer build: 1.5.0.4

I've just tried this with the 600D RAW files i have here and it seems to open fine. Just a couple of quick questions, does the filename for the RAW file have any accents in it? If not, would you be able to send us a link to one of the images so we can take a look?

Dear Chris,

 

no, it has the default naming: IMG_XXXX.CR2.

However the folders have special Hungarian characters in their names.

 

I copied the files to the root folder just for trying, and now it opens up normally.

 

 

It seems the program just doesn't like special characters in the opening path...

Designer is having a lot of trouble with special characters in paths and file names, it is something we are working on getting sorted

I tried JPEGs, and those will open up normally from the same folders.

I have the trouble only with CR2s.

Hi Herzoli, the Unicode path problem should be sorted by the next release.
