mogsie
It is possible to select all the endnotes for any position except End of Story. When End of Story is selected, each note is in a separate text box, and only one note can be selected at a time. Why is this? It's not possible to select all the notes to, for instance, apply a paragraph style that hasn't been properly imported from a Word document. lacerto
I have not much experience with notes within Affinity Publisher, but if you rather refer to footnotes (selectable note at a time), you should be able to work around these kinds of issues if you first (temporarily) convert all notes to endnotes (which can be mass selected), and then apply formatting (and then convert footnotes back to endnotes). If possible, it is often most effective to apply note paragraph and character formatting already in the source text (e.g. in Microsoft Word). MikeTO
When Positioning is set to End of Story for Endnotes, they are constructed like footnotes, one text frame per note. You cannot select them all at once. To apply a paragraph style to all of them: Click on a blank area of the page to remove the text cursor from the text Select Document-Wide in the Notes panel if it's not already selected Set Format > Note Body Style to the desired paragraph style in the Notes panel If the change isn't applied to all of the endnotes, select Revert all Endnotes to Document Settings from the panel options menu. More information can be found in my Publisher manual. The document-wide vs. custom issue can be a bit tricky. lacerto
Hmm, interesting additional options that I was not aware of before. Wouldn't it be easiest to switch positioning option to e.g. "Separate Frame" to have all notes of a story placed so that they can be selected en masse (and then switch back after formatting changes, if necessary)? You can format notes manually but that style won't be applied to new endnotes. It's better to set the document-wide note style to avoid any inconsistencies. I was principally thinking about a situation where notes have been imported and need some major overhaul, and e.g. character style assignments where scope is limited to note texts themselves. Note styles definitely need to be defined, whether there is need to add more notes later or not, but often text needs to be prepared a bit before starting applying styles.
