james948 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 I made a big project on Publisher 1 and I remember getting half way through and realising that I shouldn't have used the finder to store all my images and captions etc but rather Publisher itself. I'm gathering all the source material I need for another project and it occurs to me I should begin now. For instance I have a bunch of pictures of Hull University in 1960 that I need to run past my uncle (his auto-biog) to see whether they're relevant. If they are I need to find the best versions, upscale etc. In the meantime I need a way of cataloguing them along with the URL I found them, the name; perhaps a caption if I he adds one and what version they are; presumably I can swap in better ones as I go. Does Publisher 2 do this? I've taken a look at the asset manager but the examples in the Affinity literature are icons so I'm not convinced it's meant for this sort of thing. I'd really like a Publisher way of doing it because I want an easy way to know whether I've put all the images into the book or added duplicates etc and I'd rather not copy and paste captions. Perhaps I'm coming at this problem the wrong way; can anyone shed any light? Thanks, Quote

There is no asset manager but I assume you are looking at the 'Resource Manager'. This one provides information about single resources but it is not made to manage collections of different media types. You could, though, create a Publisher document where you collect all your images, headings, URLs and image captions. This wouldn't be any more than a basic scrapbook. From there you could copy and paste them into your final layout. It could be worth a try but it's missing almost any serious search functionality. Not the best of advice but perhaps a start to your search d. Quote Affinity Suite on Windows (V2) and iPad (V2). Beta testing when available.
