Access Keys do not Work Correctly on Menus

Alt F, E should open the Export as picture dialogue, but it only works if the Alt key is released before pressing E.

Alt F, E opens the Edit menu. 

 

This is not standard windows behaviour.

Agreed. Pressing and releasing the Alt key should also activate the menus (so that you can then press F for File, E for Edit, etc) but currently we can only get that behaviour by pressing Esc after pressing and releasing, say, Alt+F.
