John Sh Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 I keep getting notifications that 2.5.5.2636 is available but when I click on "install" I get a message "Calculating download" and nothing else happens. What do I need to do to fix this? Quote
GarryP Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 (edited) If you are having a problem updating a beta I would generally recommend just uninstalling the current beta and installing the new version (if necessary, see below), rather than trying to get it to upgrade ‘properly’. Otherwise you could be on ages trying to update it by tweaking various things that might only make it work for that specific beta. It was worth mentioning the problem in case there are some important issues hiding in there somewhere but I wouldn’t spend too much time trying to figure out how to fix it if I were you. If you can leave it ‘un-upgraded’ in case someone needs extra information about the situation then that might be useful but, otherwise, I wouldn’t worry about it too much as both those betas will probably expire soon anyway since the commercial release of 2.5.5 is now available. P.S. I’ve just realised that 2.5.5.2636 is the latest commercial release so the 2.5.5.2613 beta shouldn’t, as far as I know, be asking whether you want to update to 2.5.5.2636 as they are different installations and the beta should not know about the commercial releases. But 2.5.5.2636 is also the latest beta release, and it is quite reasonable for the beta .2613 to suggest updating to .2636. @John Sh: You can download the latest beta directly from your Affinity Store account: https://affinity.store/account/downloads after you sign-in there. Running the installer should then perform the update for you.
