Reto Gamma Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 I want to prevent a footnote from being spread over 2 pages in Affinity Publisher. How can I achieve this?
Hangman Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Hi @Reto Gamma and welcome to the forums, If it's currently checked try unchecking Allow split notes from the Footnote positioning section... walt.farrell Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Welcome to the Affinity forums. The obvious answer is to make sure that Allow Split Notes is turned off in the Notes panel. But even that isn't guaranteed, I think. As the Help for the Notes panel says: Quote Allow split notes—when selected, footnote/sidenote bodies can begin in one text frame and continue in another. When unselected, Affinity attempts to keep each body's lines together on the same page; story text may reflow, but unwanted whitespace may occur in some text frames. That implies there are cases where it won't be able to, which may relate to the Flow Options (Paragraph panel) you have set for the body text. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
