loading a *.png File with 3 Layers

Recommended Posts

I create a *.png file in Twinmotion, this file has 3 layers; the layers are separate, so 3, and only black and white, no original color:

The question: a) how can I load the files in Affinity Photo 2 and after that, remove a one layer; the sky must be removed. b) how can I get the original color back

Thank you   CHC

Hi @CHC and welcome to the forums,

If you only have the black and white layers, it sounds as though you only have the mask layers but not the original file itself, usually, you would have the main PNG along with a folder containing the mask layers which you allocated a Layer ID to...

If you have the original image you could open this and then add the 3 black and white layers and make them mask layers of the original image...

Welcome to the Affinity forums.

Standard PNG images have only 1 layer, as far as I know, though the PNG standard allows applications to extend the data content with differently-formatted data. What other applications will do with that extended data is not defined.

What happens if you try to load your file into Affinity Photo using File > Open?

Can you share your PNG file with us?
