Fact is...

If Affinity doesn't add the same AI features that Photoshop and Illustrator provides, they just cannot compete and will keep being a niche product.

I love Affinity, it feels more modern and sleek than Adobes softwares, HOWEVER... despite owning it and fully paid for it myself, I just don't use it... for my professional and home usage, the AI features are just sometimes a MUST, especially in a busy workflow or simply when you reach a limit with your normal tools and/or creativity. A creative block, if you will.

If Affinity just adds AI, I'm gone from Adobe in an instant, but until then... I neither use it or can really recommend it, as it's just way too lacking and honestly.. also a little too confusing with the different "personas/profiles". Especially for those who has been working on Adobe softwares for SOOO many years.

They need generative AI features, background/object removal, potentially something similar to Firefly AI and so forth. Probably a lot more that I just can't think of in this very moment.

And people in this forum fanboying and not living in reality... well, you can do that, but it does NOT help Affinity grow and/or improve.

It's time Affinity, not yesterday, not tomorrow... now!

This is not a debate people, it's a much needed request to keep Affinity afloat and it seems that no matter the amount of years and requests given, it still hasn't happened yet. I'll unfollow this topic as I do not use this forum and don't care about people trying to defend against fact and reality. I will not be reading or responding to comments.
Have a good one.

Everyone's workflow is going to be different. While I use AI sometimes, it is not something I use all the time and could live without, I mean we all did. It certainly makes some simple tasks much easier now. All that being said, the monthly subscription price of Adobe is around the current sale price of the full Affinity suite. And without the sale price it is just a couple months subscription for some great powerful software that is perfect for those not collaborating or making a living from the software in an environment where everyone else is using Adobe. I wonder what the backend for AI looks like for Adobe and what it costs. Adobe and Serif are entirely different companies in terms of resources. I imagine there are some large costs in cloud AI generation. Maybe that will change with Canva as they have deeper pockets and a much larger work force then Serif.
