My apologies if this is basic knowledge. I searched for this issue in the forums and didn't find a match.

  • Affinity 1.10.8
  • MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.5.2

I have two documents in Affinity that are both showing as RGB in the Color pane. If I paste from Document A, which has the blue I want, into Document B, the blue color changes (see attached screenshot, A is on top, B is on bottom.

  • When I export from Document A, it exports as RGB.
  • When I export from Document B, it exports as CYMK.

My color prefs are set to sRGB (screenshot 2). These are defaults as far as I know, I don't muck about in this area.

So I know I'm missing a "color space" variable in Affinity, but I can't figure out where it is.

Hi @scottsigler and welcome to the forums,

Check the Colour Tab under File > Document Setup for both files, you will likely see that Document A uses an RGB/8 Colour Format and Document B a CMYK/8 Colour Format which is why you see RGB colours in the Colour Panel for Document A but CMYK colours for Document B...

You need to change the Colour Format for both documents to be the same whether RGB or CMYK and ensure both use the same Colour Profile...

Your onscreen colours in the Colour Panel and the exported files will then match...

I think they're using Photo, not Designer, so it would be under Document > Convert Format/ICC Profile instead.

@scottsigler: Affinity is not an application, but a suite of 3 applications. It's important when describing problems to tell us which one you're using, or to provide screenshots of the complete application window.
