Hi,
is there a way to assign an object to a desired layer (without necessarily having to drag the object to move it from one layer to another)? Because sometimes, when importing from other vector software, each object has a layer. This way, a lot of layers are generated. And it's extremely tedious to drag an object 300 or 400 positions up or down to place it on a different layer. I'm not sure if I was clear?

thanks

You can cut and paste it from within the Layers Panel

When you have so many layers it may help to organise them into Groups.

Sure, here's the translation:

"Yes, you're right, I already do that. But when I select objects that are within a group, the group expands (to highlight where the selected object is), so to drag the object out of the group and place it into another layer, I have to navigate through many positions."

That is the nature of groups. You can make groups within groups to organize it better. I stopped dragging layers and use cut and paste instead. Then I have better control over where the layer ends up.
