In this case, as that isn't new to the beta, and not dependent on the beta, it would be best in the "regular" part of the forums. That's not a "dollar sign". It's a Section Symbol, used in the Affinity applications to represent "end of story" for a set of linked text frames, or "end of field" for artistic text. It's not really present, and won't appear in any output files, and you can simply ignore it. Or, you could use disable Text > Show Special Characters if you really don't want to see it, but that will make all the other special characters invisible, too.
