Besieged Parent Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Just updated Affinity Publisher 2 and I can no longer use the arrow keys to easily scroll up and down a page vertically. The vertical scroll bar on the right of my active page also seems to have disappeared. The only current way to go back and forth on different pages is to rely on the page thumbnails. I'm on a new Mac 14.4.1. carrie Quote

Do you mean to use a keyboard shortcut for Document > Previous Page and Next Page? If so, you may have reset your custom shortcuts because the arrow keys are the right shortcuts - the default shortcuts for those commands are Cmd+Page Up/Down. You can change them to Cmd+Up/Down Arrow if you like. 39 minutes ago, Besieged Parent said: The vertical scroll bar on the right of my active page also seems to have disappeared. If so you might need to set your scrollbar settings for macOS. By default, macOS hides the horizontal and vertical scrollbars. Go to the Apple menu, choose System Settings, and search for scrollbar. Then change Show Scroll Bars to Always. Besieged Parent Posted April 9, 2024 Author Posted April 9, 2024 Thank you. I changed the setting on my new laptop to show the scrollbar always and that part is good now. I use the up/down arrow keys regularly not as app-specific shortcuts but as a tool that works on various applications to go up and down a page. (No need to hit CMD or other buttons simultaneously, or to change defaults, previously.) On version 2.3 on my older Mac, these arrows are functional. On the update on my new Mac, they are not. I am not looking to always jump to a new page -- sometimes I just need to go in higher or lower on the same page. I can press the space bar (to get the hand symbol) and then move the mouse or trackpad up and down, but I'm used to using the arrows and would like those to work as per usual. Quote
Dan C Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Hi @Besieged Parent, Our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here, we have been exceptionally busy following our Canva acquisition announcement which has temporarily increased our response time. We're working hard to stay on top of things, so we thank you for your patience and understanding here. Unfortunately however I'm unsure of the exact behaviour you're referring to - having checked in Affinity Publisher V1, V2.1 and V2.4, all 3 versions of the app do not support page scrolling with the Arrow Keys, which is also indicated in the below thread from 2021: Can you please confirm for me, what exact behaviour are you referring to here? As your initial post seems to indicate a feature was working for you previous to the 2.4.2 update, however the feature you have then described has never been supported in Publisher, as far as I'm aware. Many thanks in advance! Quote
