I pasted a photo, resized it to fix the canvas in and converted it to curves so I could cut it in using the knife tool so I could use a curve for the cut.

the photo gets corrupted with cutting.  It does cut it.  (The screenshots are from two different cuts, they shouldn’t match)

it happens if I use a custom size or the default letter size.  It happens if it’s a straight line or curve cut out.

if I rasterize the photo first and cut it deletes the photo content.  It makes two white squares that match the cut canvas

Hi @flyingemberand Welcome to the Forums,

This is a bug and we do have it logged with the Developers to resolve.  Currently, there isn't a workaround.

I've left a link on the report back to this thread so the Affinity Info Bot can update here when its been resolved :)

If you switch to the Gradient Tool, you should be able to see that the bitmap fill isn’t centred and scaled correctly.

Drag the centre handle to the centre of the image

and drag the right-hand handle to the right-hand edge of the image to correct the problem:
